5 Minutes With Anna Hutchison
If you've ever felt the strangling grip of a quarter life crisis - that sinking feeling where you feel as though you're getting older and older (even though you're only in your 20s!) and like you have nothing to show for yourself?
You're not the only one, and you're going to love the hot new TV show Go Girls! It follows three 25-year-old nzgirls, Amy, Britta and Cody on their one year mission to fulfil their ambition to be…rich, famous and married!
Anna Hutchison (who you may remember as Delphi from Shortland St) plays Amy, the princess who loses her castle after her parent's messy divorce, which see's her mum dob her businessman dad in for fraud. We chat to her about life after Shorties, her new role and of course, girlie details like her beauty and fashion…
For many nzgirls the last time we saw you was on Shortland St as Delphi - but you've actually been really busy! Give us a brief lowdown of what you've been doing since...
I have done some theatre, other TV shows, some movies, travelled, been to university and I have been having heaps of fun.
What drew you to Go Girls?
I am a huge fan of Rachel Lang, Gavin Strawhan and Kate McDermott who wrote the series. Plus I think very highly of Chris Bailey (Producer). The scripts were exciting and the idea of the show seemed like heaps of fun.
Can you describe Amy for us?
Amy is very driven and determined. She is incredibly loyal to her friends. She is very fun and supportive.
Are you much like Amy in real life?
I too am driven. But I am not much of a drinker, nor am I very good in high heels or short skirts! Amy wants to become rich in a year. What is your own personal goal to achieve in a year? Continue being happy and working on projects I am passionate about.
You often play younger characters - what's it like playing someone older?
I didn't really think about it too much because I think many different ages will be able to relate to the issues the girls and Kevin go through.
Do you have any other projects on the go at the moment?
Yes and I continue to audition for more.
What's your top beauty tip?
Drink lots of water, wear lots of sunblock and smile.
Who are you favourite designers?
Miss Crabb, Karen Walker and Collette Dinnigan.
Do you get called Delphi very often by random strangers?
No!
